AB 802 requires all commercial buildings greater than 50,000 square feet to be benchmarked annually.  The initial due date is June1, 2018.   This is for individual buildings with greater than 50,000 SF, not a collection of buildings as in a business park.   There are exceptions that can be discussed.   Residential properties will be required to benchmark in 2019.

San Francisco's law Existing Commercial Buildings Energy Performance Ordinance, requires an Annual Energy Benchmark Summary for all commercial  properties between 10,000 and 49,999 square feet.   The only exemptions are for new or unoccupied buildings.

At least once every five years a comprehensive energy efficiency audit detailing the energy usage and cost savings that may be implemented to improve energy efficiency.     This first level is an ASHRAE Level One audit.

For buildings greater than 50,000 square feet, a more extensive energy audit needs to be completed annually.  For more information, please contact CommEnergy or visit the                       SF Existing Building Ordinance website
